Sending a quote in BillSend takes less than two minutes. Here is how to do it from start to finish.
Step 1 — Create a new quote
From your dashboard, click the orange "New quote" button at the top of the sidebar (on a phone, tap the orange + at the bottom of the screen). This opens the quote editor.
Step 2 — Fill in the details
- Customer name and email (optional but useful for follow-ups)
- Job type — a short description of the work, e.g. "Bathroom renovation"
- Line items — add each part of the job with a description, quantity, and unit price
- Valid until date — how long the quote is valid for (30 days is typical)
Step 3 — Send the quote
Click "Send by email" and BillSend emails your customer a link to the quote. To send it another way, open "More" and choose WhatsApp, or Share to send the link however you like. Your customer does not need an account to view it.
Step 4 — Track the response
You will see when your customer opens the quote, and its status changes as soon as they accept or decline it from their link.
Prefer to see the page as you go? Switch to Paper view at the top of the editor and type straight onto the quote your customer will get.
If you send the same types of quotes regularly, save a template. It will pre-fill your most common line items so you only need to adjust prices and quantities.
