Customising document labels

How to change "Quote" to "Estimate", "Proposal", or any other label that fits your business.

2 min read

Different industries use different terms for the same documents. A builder might send "Estimates", a consultant might send "Proposals", and a photographer might send "Quotes". BillSend lets you set the label that suits your business.

How to change the label

  1. Go to Settings in the sidebar
  2. Open the Documents tab
  3. Under "What do you call your quotes?", choose Quote, Estimate, or Proposal
  4. Save — your choice applies to new documents straight away

The label appears on the document itself, in the subject line of emails, and on your dashboard.

Invoice labels cannot be changed — an invoice is a legally specific term. Only the quote/estimate document type can be relabelled.
