Breaking a website project into phases does more than organise the quote. It gives the client natural checkpoints to approve work before you've built on top of it. A client who signs off on wireframes before development starts is far less likely to request a late-stage redesign than one seeing the whole thing for the first time at launch.

State the number of revision rounds per phase, not merely once for the whole project. Two rounds is standard. "Additional revisions billed at £X/hr" prevents the slow scope creep of a client sending "just one more small change" emails for three weeks after design sign-off. Each one feels small individually, but they add up to real unpaid hours.

Decide upfront how you'll handle hosting and domains, and put it in the quote instead of leaving it to be figured out at launch. Pass them through at cost, or note them as an optional ongoing line. Either avoids bundling a recurring cost into a one-off project price, which complicates the renewal conversation a year later when the client has forgotten what they originally agreed to.

Content readiness is worth a line in the quote, because it's the single biggest cause of web project delays that have nothing to do with your own work. A note that "timeline assumes final copy and images are supplied within 2 weeks of kick-off; delays to content push the launch date accordingly" shifts a common source of schedule slippage back to where it actually starts.
